Glaucoma screening

Glaucoma screening

Every week I meet a patient in their fourth or fifth decade that is in for their FIRST eye exam!  Their motivation in seeing me is that frustratingly normal change in near vision.   However, there are many other great reasons to visit me!  Did you realize that you may see perfect 20/20 vision and still have an eye disease?  The most common one being glaucoma, which not symptomatic and slowly steals your side vision.   If you are a Twins fan, you may remember that was the eye disease that ended Kirby Puckett’s career.  So if this applies to you, or you know someone like this–schedule a routine eye health exam!

Reading glasses???

January 6th, 2011

Wow, I can’t possibly be old enough to need reading glasses.  Is “presbyopia” a disease?  Is it contagious? Because I have noticed a lot of my friends have it!

Presbyopia usually starts around 40 years old.  It is not a disease, but does limit your ability to focus well at near.  However, it doesn’t always mean reading glasses.  We have been working with multifocal contacts for years.  The technology is continuously improving along with our success rates.

Want to give them a try?  Email us or give us a call to schedule an appointment.
